For me, marriage is a means of completing half of one’s faith and the only halal way prescribed by Allah to protect oneself from immoralities such as zina. I strongly believe that simplicity in marriage brings greater blessings (barakah). By the grace of Allah, I am capable of providing a modest mahr within my means, and I prefer to keep the entire process simple and dignified. I am not in favor of elaborate wedding events such as “Gaye Holud,” large processions, or unnecessary ceremonies. Practices involving music, free mixing, or presenting the bride publicly for photography are also not aligned with my personal values. I support a simple and respectful marriage conducted in the presence of the bride’s guardian and witnesses, with a proper mahr. The Walima, in my view, should be hosted by the groom’s side only. I believe that placing undue burden on the bride’s family through large wedding arrangements is unjust. While some may view weddings as an occasion for public display and extravagance, I personally prefer modesty, simplicity, and adherence to Islamic principles.

I believe that inner piety (taqwa) is far more important than outward beauty. Alongside pursuing Islamic knowledge, she should also be interested in gaining awareness of worldly subjects such as global affairs, science, technology, business, and current events, so that we can share meaningful conversations and grow together. I expect adherence to pure Islamic teachings—free from shirk and bid‘ah—and a sincere effort to follow the Sunnah in all aspects of life.
